We know, we've heard it too: " Root Canal? Oh no! You poor thing!!"
That is everyone's first reaction when they hear
that you are having a root canal. But when you first
walk through our door, you will see what makes our
endodontic practice a "not scary" place. It could
be the smiling face of Phyllis Kincaid, who has
been greeting patients at our front desk for the
last 18 years. You have probably already spoken
to her on the telephone. There is no aspect of working
with insurance companies that she is not an expert
on. Or maybe it is our eclectic decorations. We
always hear that our office looks more like a home
than a dental office. An antique dressing table
in the reception area holds a selection of flavored
coffees for your or your friend's enjoyment. Pictures
of our families are scattered throughout. Yes, we
are moms and grandmas, too! Every corner holds a
treat to explore, be it a Lazy Daze find or Dr.
Bills mom's collection of paper dolls from the 1940's.
We have subscriptions to magazines that cater to
every interest we can think of. You will never run
out of reading material! If you are cold, we have
fuzzy warm blankets. If your neck isn't comfortable,
we have special neck pillows. All of this is to
make sure that you are as comfortable as we can
possibly help you to be during your
root canal.
But we do not sacrifice excellence of care to provide the nicest, friendliest service. Our office boasts the most current equipment to make your root canal a
time-efficient experience.

We use digital x-rays, which come up instantly on the computer screen. They are also larger than conventional films, which makes diagnosis easier. Dr. Bills uses a microscope while she is doing your root canal, so that her visibility is improved, which again helps your root canal to go more smoothly and faster. We use nickel-titanium files, which are sharper, stronger, and more flexible than the previous type of root canal files. As much as we want you to enjoy your root canal experience, we don't want you to spend all day at it. We know that your time is valuable. Because of this, we do most root canals in one appointment, from consultation to completion. Most of our patients leave within one and one half hours, and can go back to work (or to the mall, which is across the street!)
We practice the Golden Rule at our office. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." You will find that we don't like shots to hurt either! Dr. Bills prides herself on giving the most painless shots possible. She also does not believe in her patients feeling their root canals! We are constantly stopping to ask if you are OK, because we honestly care about your comfort. If you are really, really, anxious, we are even able to provide conscious oral sedation in our office. We want your root canal to be a pleasant experience, and Dr. Bills and her entire staff are dedicated to your comfort. We look forward to seeing you!
